On-Site Coordinator & On-Site Coordinator Lead

Time commitment:

Both positions require work before and after each show in addition to the on-site hours. 

On-site hours for Art Fair Off the Square:
11 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday, 5:30 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday, 7:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday

On-site hours for Winter Art Fair Off the Square:
8 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday, 6:00 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, 7:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday
At least one Coordinator must be on-site at all times.
It is recommended that one person starts the day and the other ends it.

Job Description:
The Police Liaison and the Volunteer Coordinator duties combined make up the On-site Coordinator Lead and On-Site Coordinator positions. The Lead will be responsible for ensuring that all of the items on both lists are complete. 


Police Liaison/On-Site Coordinator
Attend Street Use meeting
Coordinate Security, Police, and the City
Walk site multiple times before show, report on construction issues
Be primary contact for police during the show
Write reports & submit them to the board
Attend post-show meeting

Volunteer Coordinator
Contact existing volunteers
Recruit new volunteers
Assign volunteer jobs on signup.com
Oversee & direct volunteers during the show
Write reports & submit them to the board
Attend post-show meeting


Transportation Logistics Coordinator

Time Commitment:
Art Fair Off The Square: 
3 hours Thursday, 2 hours Friday, 2 hours Sunday, 1 hour Monday
Winter Art Fair Off The Square: 
2 hours Friday, 2 hours Sunday

Job Description:
Rent cargo van
Transporting materials to & from the art fairs and the storage locker
Loading & unloading the materials

To promote the visual arts by providing opportunities and support for Wisconsin artists and craftspeople.

To offer full cooperation among our members in an effort to cope with and help resolve problems and to address situations unique to artists and craftspeople.

To encourage and promote young artists and craftspeople.

​Applications are now available for both the 43rd Annual Art Fair Off the Square to be held July 9th and 10th and the 33rd Annual Winter Art Fair Off the Square to be held on November 12th and 13th in Madison, Wisconsin.

Art Fair Off the Square 2022

These juried fairs are sponsored by the Wisconsin Alliance of Artists and Craftspeople, Inc., a non-profit, tax-exempt organization which promotes visual arts in Wisconsin.

Both art fairs are open to all Wisconsin artists and craftspeople, eighteen years of age or older, whose work is of original design and execution. The starting booth fee is $366 for Art Fair Off the square and $326 for the Winter Art Fair Off the Square, plus a non-refundable $30 jury fee. Four images of the artist's work and one of the display are required.
