The Wisconsin Alliance of Artists and Craftspeople, Inc. (WAAC) produced its first Art Fair Off the Square almost 33 years ago in July of 1979. The purpose was to provide a needed showcase for Wisconsin's many fine Craftspeople and Artists with a juried event. Our other high-profile activity is production of The Art Fair Off the Square's Winter Art Festival, with 2012 being its 23rd year. Our member exhibitors show work including ceramics, wood, paper, painting, glass, leather, silkscreen, engraving, fiber, drawing, photography and more.

Since beoming a non-profit, 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization, WAAC's membership has grown to approximately 400 members statewide. We provide scholarship support for young people in the arts, conduct instructional workshops for our members, and sponsor exhibitions throughout the Madison area.

WAAC is a unique organization: operated by artists—for the benefit of artists,
who seek to educate the public on the
fine arts and crafts found in Wisconsin.
