2010 Award Winners
The 2010 Art Fair Off the Square Artists' Awards Judge
Art Fair Off the Square Artists’ Awards Judge Terrence Coffman is an accomplished artist, author, musician/songwriter, and an internationally recognized leader in art education.
He studied at the Corcoran College of Art
and Design, the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture and has been the recipient of two Ford Foundation grants.
He has received citations from U.S. Senator Herbert Kohl and Former Wisconsin Governor Tommy Thompson for his dedication to the visual arts and education in Wisconsin. In 1995, President Clinton invited Coffman to
the White House to attend the prestigious National Medal of Arts awards ceremony.
That same year, he was awarded a fellowship at the Lacoste School of Art in France where he taught and conducted research for his novel on Vincent van Gogh, “A Walk Through the Wheatfields.”
Coffman’s work has received several awards and has been exhibited in numerous exhibitions, including shows at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., the Baltimore Museum of Art, the Lee Nordness Gallery in New York, the Milwaukee Art Museum and the Tory Folliard Gallery located in the Historic Third Ward of Milwaukee. He was also a professor as well as President of the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design from1983–2007.

2002 Award Winners
Truman Lowe was the Awards Judge at this
year's fair. Mr. Lowe is a Professor of Sculpture
at the University of Wisconsin. Currently on leave
from the Department of Art, he is with the
Smithsonian Institution as Curator of Contemporary
Art for the National Museum of the American Indian
in Washington, D.C. Not only did he jury the fair
but presented the awards at the artists' picnic on
Saturday evening. Thanks, Truman! |
